Handmade Leather Guitar Straps
A Guitar Strap Whose Story Inspires
Imagine a handmade guitar strap whose style was unique as each guitarist's style of playing -- a guitar strap whose story would inspire creativity.
Our Handmade Leather Guitar Straps do just that - combining the timelessness of leather with the unique handmade woven designs of the Wayuu Indigenous Group.
The Wayuu Indigenous Group is a community of indigenous people who live on reservations scattered through Colombia and Venezuela's Guajira Desert. Surrounded by ocean and desert, this indigenous community is led entirely by its women and has a history of crocheting and knitting that is as old as the tribe's history of Creation.
Hands of Colombia works directly with Wayuu artisans to commercialize their products, including by combining their designs with leather to make Guitar Straps, Camera Straps, Leashes, and Leather Clutches.
Our Guitar Straps are the Perfect Gift for Guitarists
Each Guitar Strap features its own pattern made by a Wayuu Artisan and sourced directly by Hands of Colombia.
Our straps are made in small batches in a family run leather shop in Bogotá, Colombia using fine, Colombian leather.
For each Handmade Leather Guitar Strap with Indigenous Wayuu Pattern purchased, we donate three balls of thread to a Wayuu Artisan in the Guajira Desert - part of our Thread Giving Program.
